Cultures in Dialogue Armenia – Finissage of the Exhibition „Minas and Narek Avetisyan. Modernism and Avant-garde“ in Halle (Saale), Germany.
ex-previewAfter 10 weeks’ time, the exhibition „Minas and Narek Avetisyan. Modernism and Avant-garde in Armenia“ at the Art-museum Moritzburg in Halle (Saale), Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, approached its end. It gave proof of a successful cooperation between Cultures in Dialogue Armenia and Art-museum Moritzburg and also of an intercultural dialogue between Germany and Armenia, between the sponsors (Cultural Ministry of the County Saxony-Anhalt; the Cultural Ministery of the Republic of Armenia) and the supporters (”MESROP-Centre” for Armenian Studies in Halle; the Centre for Political Education of the County of Saxony-Anhalt and the Armenian Community in Halle) of the exhibition project as well as all national and international visitors.
With the Armenian documentary „From Ararat to Zion“ by Armenian director Edgar Baghdasaryan at the local art-cinema (”Puschkino”) on Saturday, May 3rd, the comprising accompanying programm had its last highlight. The event was rounded off by a discussion with the director following the presentation of the film.
The last day of the exhibition – Sunday, May 4th, was dedicated to Armenian art and culture. After an Armenian Church service and in addition to a varied side programm provided by the Armenian community at Halle, visitors were able to see the exhibited works for the last time in a guided tour with the artist Narek Avetisyan and the exhibition curator Marie-Christine Fritsch (Cultures in Dialogue Armenia). After the tour, the audience had the chance to ask the artist Narek Avetisyan some questions during the artist’s talk.
Initiated by Cultures in Dialogue Armenia, the exhibition’s vernissage in February as well as the finissage (including the artist’s talk) in May was documented on film which will be available to the Armenian public soon together with the trilingual (German, Armenian, English) exhibition catalogue.
