The Swiss artist Lea Fröhlicher will be Artist-in-Residence in Yerevan (Armenia) from June 20 to December 20, 2018.
After the six months stay of the Armenian artist Artur Hakobyan (KulturDialog Armenien) as artist-in-residence in Freiburg in Breisgau (Germany) from mid-January to mid-July 2018 as the program’s fifth artist, Foundation KulturDialog Armenien continues its International Artists’ Exchange Program in cooperation with Atelier Mondial (Christoph Merian Stiftung), Basel (Switzerland) and the Cultural Affairs Office of the City of Freiburg in Breisgau (Germany).
Starting June 20th, 2018, KulturDialog Armenien welcomes in return the Suisse artist Lea Fröhlicher as the program’s sixth participant and as the program’s third swiss artist-in-residence in Yerevan, Armenia.
The art works Lea Fröhlicher will create during those six months in Yerevan will be presented to the Armenian audience in a solo exhibition at the end of his stay at Dalan Art Gallery in Yerevan, Armenia, starting November 9th, 2018.
The program’s main objectives are to develop intercultural relations between the cities of Basel (Switzerland), Freiburg in Breisgau (Germany) and Yerevan (Armenia) on a comprehensive cultural level, to establish mutual artistic contacts and create favorable conditions for artistic exchange between those three countries.
Participating artists from those countries will be given the opportunity to get to know a new art scene, a new audience and a new culture and to express those influences in their work. The artists will live and work in one of the cities mentioned above for a period of six months and they will have the possibility to present their work in a solo exhibition at the end of their stay.
