“Views of a Country. Photography from East Germany 1945-1995” in Yerevan, Armenia
ex-previewOpened the exhibition “Views of a Country. Photography from East Germany 1945-1955” at the National Gallery in Yerevan, September 23rd, 2015 at 4 p.m.
Initiated by Foundation KulturDialog Armenien and in cooperation with Art Museum Moritzburg Halle (County museum of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany), supported by the Cultural Ministries of Armenia and the County of Saxony-Anhalt, the German and the Armenian Embassy and in cooperation with the National Gallery of Armenia, the exhibition “Views of a Country. Photography from East Germany 1945-1995” of our partner Art Museum Moritzburg Halle (Germany) opened at the National Gallery on September 23rd, 2015 at 4 p.m.
This exhibition is the official response to last year’s exhibition “Minas and Narek Avetisyan. Modernism and Avant-garde in Armenia”, initiated and presented in cooperation with Foundation KulturDialog Armenien at the Art Museum Moritzburg Halle (Germany). This way, modern and contemporary Armenian Art was brought to the county of Saxony-Anhalt (Germany). We were thus delighted to make art from Saxony-Anhalt available to the Armenian audience in return.
With a total of 79 photographic exhibits by 21 photographers, the Armenian audience gained insight into the history of East Germany and into five decades of the development of artistic tendencies within East German photography.
Thanks to this international cooperation, the cultural and artistic exchange between Armenia and Saxony-Anhalt will be continued. This exhibition project impressively has illustrated the collaboration between the two cultural institutions Art Museum Moritzburg Halle (Germany) and Foundation KulturDialog Armenien.
