Commemorating event for the anniversary of the famous Armenian painter Minas Avetisyan in Yerevan, Armenia

In order to acknowledge the 86th anniversary of the great Armenian artist Minas Avetisyan on July 20th, Foundation KulturDialog Armenien presented Minas’ work “This is Where We Lived” (1968) in cooperation with the Museum of Russian Art, Yerevan. For this occasion, the museum granted the public access to the famous painting, which is normally stored in the museum’s depot, for a week (19.-26.07.2015). The exhibition of Estonian contemporary graphic artists “The Surprised Eye“ in Yerevan, Armenia

Foundation KulturDialog Armenien participated with its three artists Tigran Sahakyan, Arman Vahanyan, and Tigran Kirakosyan in the Armenian-Estonian cultural mission, June 12–16, 2013. Thanks to the Foundations initiative and sponsoring and in cooperation with the Association of Estonian Printmakers, these three artists were invited as ‘artists-in-residence’ to come to Tallinn for 4 weeks. Here, they were given the possibility to work in the offset printmaking studio Albatross Editions (Tigran Sahakyan, Arman Vahanyan) and the association’s printing studio (Tigran Kirakosyan) from March 15 – April 15, 2014. The exhibition of Tigran Kirakosyan “Voices of the Past” in Halle (Saale)

 On the initiative of Foundation KulturDialog Armenien and in cooperation with the Fine Arts Museum Moritzburg in Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany), the Cultural Ministry of the county of Saxony-Anhalt and thanks to the support of the City of Halle, a new ‘Artist-in-Residence program’ started on March 2, 2015. This exchange program allowed the Armenian artist Tigran Kirakosyan, as the program’s first candidate, to come to Halle (Saale) and to work in the painting and graphic studios of Halle’s Fine Arts Academy “Burg Giebichenstein” for 10 weeks until May 10th, 2015. The transformations of the final years of Tigran Sahakyan’s art serve as the subject matter for study of the Cre–Action project. The artist represents that generations of artists whose path towards maturation took place in an atmosphere of war, transformations of political systems, and economic and psycho-moral tremors. In these conditions, the subjective “Self” of the artists is forced to smooth the road, by being an eyewitness of the “old” artist-type – on the odyssey of abandoning the art scene step by step.
