Opening of the solo exhibition “Parallel Realities” of the Armenian artist Arman Vahanyan (KulturDialog Armenien) at “Kurfürstliches Gärtnerhaus” in Bonn, Germany, on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at 11 a.m.
For the second time, Foundation KulturDialog Armenien in cooperation with Kurfürstliches Gärtnerhaus Bonn, Germany, presents an Armenian artist at the premises of Kurfürstliches Gärtnerhaus. Arman Vahanyan (KulturDialog Armenien) was chosen by the jury of Kurfürstliches Gärtnerhaus in June 2016 to showcase a total of 29 printed works from the last 17 years in his solo exhibition from April 23rd to May 11th, 2017.
Besides etchings, monotypes, offset lithographs, a linocut and a woodcut, the exhibition also shows 4 lithographs which the artist created during his artist-in-residence stay in Basel (invited by Atelier Mondial/ Christoph Merian Stiftung Basel), Switzerland, at the professional printing studio “druckwerk”.
Conceived as a retrospective, this exhibition provides the German audience with an insight into the manifold work of Vahanyan with its numerous series and different techniques from all periods of his artistic career since the year 2000.
After the solo exhibition of printed works “Every day’s surface” at Salon Mondial (Atelier Mondial, Basel, Schwitzerland) at the beginning of April, this exhibition in Bonn is the first show in Germany dedicated solely to printed works by Vahanyan.
Foundation KulturDialog Armenien organizes the “First International Print Biennale Yerevan 2017” in Yerevan, Armenia from October 25th to November 10th, 2017.
For this reason, KulturDialog Armenien deliberately puts printmaking artists and their works in the focus of attention already now in order to form a prelude for this new and unique event and in order to arouse curiosity for contemporary print making with artists and art lovers alike.
Part of this prelude to “The First International Print Biennale Yerevan 2017” were the exhibitions “KunstDialog No2” with printed works of the Armenian artist Tigran Sahakyan and works by the Swiss artist Therese Weber at “KunstRaum a.a.1 Arlesheim” (Basel-County, Switzerland) and the solo exhibition “Every day’s surface” presenting printed works by Arman Vahanyan at Salon Mondial (Atelier Mondial/Christoph Merian Stiftung Basel, Switzerland) in March and April 2017.
Foundation KulturDialog Armenien now continues this international print making dialogue in Germany with the exhibition “Parallel Realities” in Bonn to arouse enthusiasm for contemporary printmaking and to give the German audience an idea of the Armenian at scene by presenting Arman Vahanyan and the broad panorama of his works.
