The third international festival “Crossing Borders” took place in Bayreuth (Bavaria, Germany) from August 10 – 17, 2015. This festival hosted the artists’ workshop “Peace” along with the international symposium following the same theme.
At the invitation of the festival, the Armenian artist Tigran Sahakyan and board member of Foundation KulturDialog Armenien, Sona Hovsepyan, represented Armenia at the artists’ workshop. The vice-president of foundation KulturDialog Armenien, Marie-Christine Fritsch (M.A.), gave a lecture on “Peace in Armenian Art”.
The international festival “Crossing Borders” started off in 2013 with the artists’ workshop “Climatic Changes” at the Künstlerforum Bonn, Germany, and the symposium on “Culture.City.Religion” at the Landesmuseum Nordrhein-Westfalen, Bonn, Germany.
In 2014, the festival continued on the initiative and thanks to the support of Foundation KulturDialog Armenien in Yerevan: The topic of the artists’ workshop was “Time and Space” at the Armenian Centre for contemporary and experimental art in Yerevan and the symposium concentrated on “Christianity.Nation.Religion” at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. This year’s festival “Crossing Borders” gathered artists, cultural mediators and representatives of different religions coming from Yerevan (Armenia), Salzburg (Austria), Bonn (Germany) and Reykjavík (Iceland) for the third time for intercultural exchange.
